Willow and I joked that this was our “Away We Go” trip. Nine months to get a feel for what it would be like to live in Spain, try different cities on for size (we thought it would be at least 3, ended up being just two: Toledo and Barcelona), and like the characters in the wonderful movie by that name, just figure out what lay ahead.
As it turns out what lay ahead is what we left behind. We are really excited to be coming back to San Francisco and finish off what we started there just five years back. We’ll rejoin the beautiful friendships, rewarding opportunities and interesting life that brought us together in the first place.
In a few short hours we will also share a wonderful week with our complete family all brought together (save one dearly missed grandma of mine who can’t travel with us!) as chaperons to my parents in their first trip since I met Willow and fell in love with her for the rest of life.
Glad to be back soon, glad we did this too. Glad it feels this good!
