The first day of our trip to see J&M, we wandered the downtown until it started raining, then saw a movie and hung out in the magnificent library until they got off work.
Then on Saturday we had a delicious brunch nearby their house, and then took a ferry to Vashon Island, out in Puget Sound. The day was spectacular, and we had a great time exploring the island, including a walk along a beach in the warm afternoon.

El primer día de nuestro viaje a Seattle, andamos por el centro de la ciudad. Cuando se puso a llover nos metimos al cine, y después en la bonita biblioteca hasta que nuestros amigos salieron del trabajo.
Luego el sábado fuimos en un ferry hasta una isla que se llama Vashon. El día era especatular, hacía un tiempo esplendido, y lo pasamos muy bien explorando la isla, incluyendo un faro donde caminamos en la playa en una tarde de sol.
The day finished with a spectacular sunset over the Sound on the ferry ride home.

El día acabó con un atardecer espectacular en el ferry de vuelta a casa. (P.D. Era un ferry de coches.)
Después de unos días maravillosos con mis padres en Mijas la semana pasada, nos hemos animado a volver esta vez nosotros solos. Estamos explorando la zona para luego dar buen consejo y aprovechar así bien las fuerzas.
Con una base de operaciones tan bien puesta como el apartamento que han montado Tino y Marisa con tanto cariño, da gusto pasar unos días sin otra preocupación que buscar nuevas aventuras en la Costa del Sol Malagueña.
Anoche cenamos en el Altamirano con Juan Luis, Begoña y sus dos preciosos niños.
Esta noche hemos estado explorando calitas y playas para ver si encotramos algo que mejore lo conocido.

We had a fabulous weekend hiking at the Grand Canyon North Rim. Pictures and stories to come this week, including an encounter with a herd of wild buffalo!
On impulse last week, I decided to use miles and come and see my dear old friend and her family. I have a couple more weeks before I get really busy with school again, and needed a change of scenery from the summer fog in San Francisco. So I hopped on a plane and came to their beautiful home in Vermont.
Our days have been full!
We have gone swimming.
We have taken walks.
We have played at the park, and watched the boys go down a very tall slide.
We have looked out the window at a sudden rainstorm.
We have spent time with another dear friend up from Boston, talking, laughing, and making food (and a boat for a small boy).
We have sailed the boat on a pond at grandpa’s house.
We have worked in the vegetable garden, harvesting beans, beets, carrots and much more.
And we have relaxed on the grass, under a warm sun.
What a delightful time! The only thing missing is JUANJO next to me on that grass! Next time…
