35 semanas

January 11th, 2012

Next week I’m in the final month, 36 weeks pregnant. The baby is all developed now, now he’s just getting fatter in the last weeks. He gets the hiccups a lot, sometimes more than once a day. It’s funny, it kind of tickles my belly, and Juanjo can feel it as a kind of pulse when he puts a hand on my belly. I like it because it tells me where the baby’s head is; now that we’re nearing the end, it’s important that his head be down. I’ve got heartburn all the time, and it’s making it hard to sleep most nights. (Last night I had to get up at 2 and eat something, and even with that I couldn’t get rid of the acidic feeling.) They say the last weeks are the most tired, and I’m definitely feeling that too. Almost there!

23 weeks

October 19th, 2011

The weather has finally arrived to be able to wear this pretty sweater dress that I got in Spain this summer! You can’t see how big I am in this picture because I’m half-turned around, but I feel like Basil is growing a lot. I notice it because of how hungry I am, and because lately from one week to the next I feel like my belly is much bigger. And he’s moving much more strongly – Juanjo can put his hand on my belly more often and feel the little kicks now. We love it!

Padres de un Niño

September 27th, 2011

We’re going to have a boy, and Juanjo’s already getting ready to teach him guitar, hoping maybe he’ll turn into a little rock star.

Estos días

September 21st, 2011

These last few days we’ve had amazing weather. Sun in the morning, heat, and if it’s windy, it’s just a warm breeze. San Francisco’s small summer has finally arrived and it’s so wonderful! Even on the beach you can take a sunset walk with short sleeves. It’s really awesome to be able to enjoy the city like this! (Too bad it’s such a short few days…)

And one more belly shot before we find out a little more about who’s coming to us. One day left and we’ll know whether this little one is a boy or a girl. They told us that the appointment could last up to an hour, because it can take a while to see and sometimes you have to wait until the baby moves. We’re really excited to see an image of our little one for the first time!

(P.S. Though it might look like it, I’m not going to yoga all the time! I’m going twice a week, but it just so happens that that’s when Juanjo has taken a belly picture lately!)
